Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. The position offers an opportunity for professional growth, including obtaining the Accounts Payable Certification within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process incoming invoices and expense reports according to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all payments are accurate, complete, and made within established deadlines.
  • Maintain and update vendor records in the financial system, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues and inquiries.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of accounts payable processes and controls.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for all transactions processed.
  • Participate in training and development activities to achieve the Accounts Payable Certification within the designated timeframe.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, compliance standards, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Accounts Payable or related financial roles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, financial systems, and relevant software applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment, preferably within healthcare or large organizations.
  • Commitment to professional development, including obtaining the Accounts Payable Certification within one year of employment.
