This role is for a detail-driven Bookkeeper/Accountant supporting a growing B2B beverage importer. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate day-to-day financial records in QuickBooks, completing reconciliations, and producing timely management reporting as purchasing, inventory, sales, and compliance activities expand.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks, including transaction entry, coding, and monthly account and bank reconciliations
- Reconcile and resolve discrepancies in A/P and A/R
- Build and run financial reports on demand for management, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and ad hoc analyses
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, vendor payments, and follow-up on outstanding balances
- Support month-end and year-end close and coordinate with outside CPAs/tax preparers as needed
- Track and reconcile purchase orders and inventory-related transactions alongside sales and compliance teams
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation
- Use Excel for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis beyond what QuickBooks handles natively
- Proactively flag discrepancies, cash flow risks, or unusual trends to leadership
Requirements
- Fully versed in QuickBooks (Desktop) with the ability to work independently in the system day to day
- Proven experience producing financial reports and reconciliations for a small or mid-sized business
- Medium-to-advanced Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables, and building clear reporting views from raw data
- Based in Texas with the ability to work remotely and be reliably available during core business hours
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through, with comfort owning numbers leadership relies on
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in beverage, food, distribution, or another regulated import/wholesale industry
- Basic familiarity with Claude or similar AI tools to speed up reporting and administrative work
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
Compensation & Benefits
- $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience
