Overview
This is a fully remote Accountant role.
This position maintains accurate, compliant financial records to support monthly and annual reporting. The work helps ensure the integrity of financial data and supports informed decision-making through adherence to applicable accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain General Ledger account structure per established procedures
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including supporting documentation
- Review financial documents for accuracy and reconciliations
- Analyze financial data for monthly statements and provide recommendations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP in financial records
- Generate financial reports
- Collaborate with departments to support accounting needs
- Prepare schedules and reconciliations required for audits
- Manage Fixed Assets accounting, including capital additions and disposals
- Reconcile cash accounts and prepare daily cash reports
- Work with the Treasury Director on cash processes and perform audits
- Assist other Finance functions to balance workload
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or High School diploma plus five years relevant experience
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia employment requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare environment
- Familiarity with organizational systems
