Overview
A staffing services technology organization is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join their finance team. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Accountant will collaborate with the Finance Director and department heads to support month-end close processes, reconcile accounts, and help the organization achieve audit-readiness and financial accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting transactions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; analyze variances against budget and provide detailed expense and revenue reports.
- Prepare and file local, state, and federal tax returns; ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS standards and internal policies.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule; review and approve employee expense reports in line with company policies and budgets.
- Collaborate with HR, Sales, and Operations to verify billing data, resolve payment discrepancies, and support cross-departmental budgeting.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial files; update accounting software with vendor and client information ensuring data integrity.
- Review current accounting procedures to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to streamline workflows and enhance internal controls.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience; corporate or public accounting experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA candidacy is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues and communicate effectively with vendors.
- High attention to detail with proven ability to spot errors and reconcile complex accounts.
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting tasks and meeting strict deadlines for month-end closes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate discrepancies and resolve billing or payment issues independently.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite, and advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a finance team and support broader organizational goals.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $275,000 to $310,000 plus commission, with exact placement based on skills, experience, and interview performance.
