Accounting Analyst - GL

Overview

The organization is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the Finance strategic projects team within controllership. This role (GL Project Resource) will help drive general accounting projects for business teams focused on improving productivity and efficiency of work processes. The position is responsible for delivering finance objectives by partnering with the business and relevant functions to meet project requirements according to project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and build general ledger solutions for use by global controllership teams.
• Assist global teams in developing new solutions and driving automation.
• Support SAP implementations for general ledger (GL).
• Assist with data take-on for ERP and transformation projects.
• Design and implement miscellaneous billing processes.
• Build and leverage strong partnerships with other workstreams/functions and the business.
• Communicate effectively, identify gaps in processes and designs.
• Create, maintain, and provide ongoing status updates for milestones and deliverables.
• Create, maintain, and provide ongoing reporting of project dependencies, issues, and risks, including cross-impacts, resolutions, and mitigations.
• Train business teams to ensure smooth transitions and strong communication to user groups regarding changes or impacts to work processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5–8 years’ experience in Controllership.
• Continuous Improvement experience.
• Proficiency with Excel/Access/Office/SAP.
• Team leading experience.
• Local GAAP Accounting knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong SAP technical skills.
• Experience in SD/Billing processes.
• Experience posting GL transactions and driving process improvement.
• Experience with SAP implementations.
• Extensive understanding of Finance Master Data (Cost Center/Customer/Vendor/GL).
• Demonstrated coordination across global teams/centers/local accounting networks.
• Experience with month/year end closing activities and finalization of financial statements.
• Deep knowledge of foreign currency accounting.
• Proven ability using upload tools/interfaces/batch jobs.
• Strong collaboration and business partnering skills.
• Ability to lead and influence; positive, open-minded approach; willing to drive change.
• Interpersonal effectiveness in team environments with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple items simultaneously; flexibility to change course unexpectedly.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving results on time.
