Overview
A remote accounting, tax, and consulting firm specializing in the craft brewing industry is seeking a full-time Brewery Accounting Associate. This role focuses on supporting the day-to-day bookkeeping needs of brewery clients with the opportunity to grow into a brewery accounting specialist.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and bookkeeping tasks for brewery clients using Bill.com and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Maintain accurate QBO bank feeds by matching transactions, entering payroll, and keeping bank and POS syncs current.
- Assist with monthly close processes by collecting and preparing statements and documentation for accountants.
- Communicate with brewery clients to request information, resolve questions, and ensure smooth accounting operations.
- Collaborate with accountants and other associates to support monthly close and compliance filings.
Growth Path
- Level 1: Brewery Bookkeeping Foundation – Focus on accurate processing of invoices, receipts, credit memos, and maintaining clean bank feeds and POS syncs.
- Level 2: Brewery Bookkeeping and Close Support – Begin monthly close tasks, prepare reconciliations, and communicate directly with clients to resolve issues.
- Level 3: Brewery Close Ready (Path to Accountant) – Manage full monthly close for assigned clients, including reconciliations, accruals, and inventory, with managerial support.
How Success is Measured
- Consistent progress on the Accounting Skills Matrix.
- Accurate and timely delivery of clients’ books.
- Minimal need for corrections by accountants or managers.
- Maintaining target client book size and mix.
- Positive client feedback on bookkeeping consistency.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience as an Accounting Associate, Bookkeeper, Staff Accountant, or similar role.
- Experience managing multiple clients or entities simultaneously (public firm or outsourced accounting experience is a plus).
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online; experience with Bill.com is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection, quiet workspace for video calls, and availability during standard business hours (9 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday).
- Must be based in the U.S. and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Preferred: experience with brewery or inventory-heavy, accrual-based clients; familiarity with tools such as Square, Toast, Gusto, Podio, or Asana.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $51,000–$60,000 annually, based on skills and experience.
- Clear promotion track to Accountant role with salary range $64,000–$73,000 plus bonus eligibility, typically achievable within 6–12 months.
