Overview
An organization providing an all-in-one accounting platform tailored for startups is seeking an Accounting Associate. The platform automates bookkeeping, taxes, and tax credits for over 1,000 high-growth companies by combining automation with expert in-house accounting knowledge focused on startup needs. The team operates primarily remotely and is globally distributed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple clients
- Record and manage payroll, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and accounts payable
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
- Ensure adherence to accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Stay current on bookkeeping, tax filing, HR standards, and regulations
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Track billable hours across clients
- Manage project tracking in proprietary software
- Maintain filing systems in cloud-based platforms
- Monitor client communication channels for support needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing financials for multiple clients
- Strong written communication skills for documenting accounting processes
- Ability to manage ambiguity, solve problems creatively, and prioritize multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial/statistical reporting
- Experience with SaaS, tech, startups, high-growth, or PE-backed companies preferred but not required
- CPA license and Big 4 experience are advantages but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location
