Accounting Consultant – Engagement Director

Overview

The organization is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support for clients (typically larger than $50M) on an interim and project basis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries across accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles (Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, Internal Audit Manager, etc.).
• Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
• Take an active, hands-on approach to executing client engagements.
• Travel may be required or available depending on engagement needs.

Requirements

• 8 years relevant work experience, including public accounting (10+ years preferred).
• Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting or Internal Audit Manager equivalent preferred (Big Four experience is appreciated).
• Bachelor’s degree required (combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree). Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Mastery in Microsoft Excel and experience with a variety of accounting software.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management and exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly compensation range (Massachusetts): $60–$95/hr.
