Overview
This role involves interim and project-based assignments with private equity-backed and privately held middle market to enterprise-sized companies. Work focuses on helping clients navigate complex finance and accounting challenges through interim or fractional leadership.
Typical assignments may include:
- Accounting & Finance Directors
- Controllers
- Assistant Controllers
- Accounting & Finance Managers
- Accounting Associates
Responsibilities
- Lead or support full-cycle accounting and finance functions as assigned by the client
- Identify issues and determine solutions through research and use of available resources
- Apply strong analytical skills to understand business needs and drive results
- Manage multiple priorities and deliver work products within deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams; build rapport and gain trust with stakeholders in a short timeframe
- Provide hands-on, problem-solving support in fast-paced, client-facing environments
- Use high proficiency tools and systems (e.g., MS Excel and ERP systems) to support deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent
- Experience level varies by assignment opportunity:
- Associates: typically 4+ years of experience
- Managers: typically 6+ years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance
- Directors: typically 10+ years of relevant expertise
- Senior Directors: typically 15+ years of finance and accounting leadership and industry experience
- Experience with full-cycle accounting
- Some accounting/finance leadership and/or management experience (commensurate with the specific assignment)
- Ability to identify issues and find solutions through research and utilization of available resources
- High level proficiency in MS Excel and various ERP systems
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to see the big picture
- Strong attention to detail with consistent follow-through
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities at once and meet deadlines
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to exercise good judgment
- Enjoy working with multiple clients in a variety of industries, often simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment with clients and internal teams
- Self-directed work style
- Strong project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA (active or inactive) and/or MBA
- Prior engagements in consulting or contract work
- Experience working with private equity-backed companies
- Background in mergers, acquisitions, and integrations
Compensation & Benefits
- Projects/interim assignments may be part-time or full-time depending on client requests
- Hourly, non-exempt (FLSA status)

Location & Work Environment
