Overview
An organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining a strong internal control environment across multiple business units within a shared services model. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
Automation & Process Improvement
- Promote an automation-first mindset by actively eliminating manual workflows.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement automation opportunities across accounting processes such as reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and transaction processing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and develop scalable solutions.
Accounting Operations & Close
- Manage general accounting activities for multiple legal entities in a shared services environment, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and month-end close.
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other accounting deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies.
- Oversee balance sheet account reconciliations and assist the team in resolving close-related issues.
- Prepare and manage the monthly close calendar, ensuring alignment with internal deadlines.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare, review, and present monthly financial results, variance analyses, and supporting schedules to management and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill consolidation and reporting requirements to the parent company.
- Maintain responsibility for the general ledger structure, including chart of accounts, mappings, and validation rules within Oracle.
Audit & Governance
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring complete documentation, timely responses, and transparent processes.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and consistent accounting policies.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, supervise, and coach a team of 3–4 accounting professionals, fostering development and accountability.
- Collaborate closely with Controllers and finance leadership on strategic and operational accounting initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Active U.S. CPA license.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 1–3 years of people management or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 or large national firm.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
- Experience supporting multi-entity environments and shared services models.
