Overview
This role oversees and manages all financial and accounting activities within the organization. The position is responsible for accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning and analysis that support organizational growth and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to team members.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment within the accounting department.
Essential Tasks & Duties
- Manage payroll entries and reconciliations; input payroll data into the ERP system for the entire organization.
- Prepare and submit various statistics and returns for outside agencies.
- Oversee and supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Control.
- Assist in coverage planning for cash book, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Control.
- Work with tax consultants and Avalara to support tax management and statutory compliance for income tax, business tax, sales and use tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Control and supervise the Fixed Asset process, including:
- monitoring capital expenditures
- analyzing spending and reconciling to the General Ledger
- ensuring projects are capitalized timely in accordance with corporate policy
- ensuring assets are properly identified and tracked
- Oversee the employee expenses process in Concur, including:
- reconciling
- accruing
- booking journal entries in NetSuite related to employee corporate card expenses and/or personal reimbursements
- Handle statutory requirements related to external audit, statutory accounts, and tax submissions, including VAT and Intrastate compliance.
- Prepare journal entries related to month-end activities; process month-end close transactions and complete reconciliations.
- Supervise month-end confirmations for inter-company accounts.
- Supervise and review month-end activities, including:
- bank reconciliations
- accruals
- cost re-allocations
- inter-company transactions
- Balance Sheet clear-downs
- Manage the Accounts Assistant.

Qualifications
- High level knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational and management skills, including written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and establish priorities.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions, and manage shifting priorities.
- Exercise practical confidentiality when discussing the organization’s financial data.
- Supervisory skills.
- PC computer familiarity.
- Highly proficient in Excel and the MS Office suite.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- ERP system implementation experience and/or experience is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Master’s degree in accounting/finance or CPA preferred.
- Fully qualified accountant or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting with occasional standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
- Occasional lifting/carrying of boxed paper and computer forms weighing 50 lbs.
- Average vision and hearing are sufficient.
