Overview
An organization in the animal health industry is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting, treasury, and finance operations. The company focuses on modernizing veterinary software and enhancing healthcare experiences for pet parents through a suite of platforms including a procurement marketplace, home delivery e-commerce, and practice management systems. Serving over 25,000 hospitals nationwide, the organization supports tens of thousands of veterinarians and is backed by prominent venture investors.
Responsibilities
- Lead timely and accurate monthly close processes and perform month-over-month variance analysis with detailed explanations.
- Manage treasury functions, monitor cash balances, and proactively identify cash flow risks or opportunities.
- Own monthly bank reconciliations, accrued expense schedules, and the setup and amortization of prepaid expenses.
- Prepare and support quarterly tax payments and filings in collaboration with external advisors.
- Maintain and update accounting process guides to ensure documentation is audit-ready and consistently organized.
- Identify and implement process improvements to support organizational growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 to 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm is required.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and finance operations.
- Proven experience managing month-end close cycles.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- Experience maintaining internal knowledge bases and technical process documentation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range (U.S.): $100,000 – $140,000 per year.
- Salary Range (Colorado): $105,000 – $130,000 per year.
