Overview
The organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations and help build an efficient, scalable accounting function. This role focuses on full-cycle accounting, process improvement, automation (including AI workflows), and cross-functional partnership with Finance.
The position reports to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations and month-end close, including:
- Revenue recognition
- Accounts payable (AP)
- Inventory and fixed assets
- Capital expenditures
- Payroll
- Cash management
- Build and utilize AI workflows and tools to create agents and process flows that eliminate manual work
- Leverage automation capabilities within the organization’s ERP and adjacent tools (including AP automation and close management software) to reduce completion time and increase accuracy
- Drive process improvement across accounting and across entities to increase efficiency and scalability
- Develop and maintain scalable internal controls within the accounting function and across the organization; design and maintain a SOX-ready control framework in anticipation of future compliance requirements
- Manage and continuously improve financial reporting, including analyzing financial data and developing and presenting accounting insights to leadership
- Collaborate with the finance team on monthly financial analysis and insights, and support budget preparation and inputs
- Provide business partner support to key stakeholders through variance-to-analysis (BvA) insights and recommended improvements or process changes
- Support the annual audit and tax compliance as the primary liaison to external auditors, including managing PBC requests, audit timelines, and resolution of technical accounting matters
- Support development, tracking, and performance of accounting KPIs
- Stay current on applicable accounting pronouncements; inform management of new requirements and changes to financial reporting, and implement updates in a timely manner
Requirements
- Active CPA license
- Public accounting firm experience required (Big 4 or large regional firm); audit background strongly preferred
- Industry (corporate/private company) accounting experience required in addition to public accounting firm background
- At least 5–7 years of progressive accounting and managerial experience
- Experience building and utilizing AI workflows and agents to automate everyday tasks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
