Overview
An organization in the animal health industry is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting, treasury, and finance operations. The company focuses on modernizing veterinary software and enhancing the pet healthcare experience through platforms such as a procurement marketplace, home delivery ecommerce service, and practice management system. Serving over 25,000 hospitals nationwide, it supports tens of thousands of veterinarians caring for millions of pets annually.
Responsibilities
- Lead timely and accurate monthly close processes
- Manage treasury functions, monitor cash balances, and identify cash flow risks and opportunities
- Prepare and support quarterly tax payments and filings in coordination with external advisors
- Own monthly bank reconciliations and accrued expense schedules
- Manage prepaid expenses including setup, amortization, and reconciliation
- Conduct month-over-month variance analysis with detailed explanations
- Support month-end close activities to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain and update accounting documentation and process guides
- Ensure documentation is audit-ready and consistently maintained
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
- 4 to 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and finance operations
- Proven experience managing month-end close processes
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience maintaining internal knowledge bases and process documentation
- Proactive, collaborative, and flexible work approach
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range across the U.S.: $100,000 to $140,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits
- Colorado-specific base salary range: $105,000 to $130,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits
