Overview
A well-established organization with a long history of providing quality supplies across various industries is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join their Shared Services team. This role focuses on the entry and processing of vendor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Location
- Remote within the United States or Hybrid in Newport News, VA, following company policy.
Responsibilities
- Verify accuracy of invoice images and supporting documents.
- Enter invoice details into the ERP system using a 3-way match process.
- Identify different types of accounting documents.
- Assist with ad hoc accounts payable duties as needed.
- Calculate and apply correct payment terms to vendor invoices.
- Accurately bill customers for products and services.
- Resolve issues such as unit of measure discrepancies through advanced problem-solving.
- Review entries to prevent duplication.
- Communicate with external vendors to ensure proper invoice processing.
- Maintain adherence to accounts payable policies and goals.
- Provide elevated support during Month End, Mid-Year, and Year End periods.
- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively within the Accounts Payable team and other departments.
- Participate in associate meetings and communicate concerns to management.
- Represent the organization professionally and uphold quality customer service.
- Comply with all company policies, rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in accounts payable, procurement (P2P), or related financial roles.
- Understanding of accounting concepts through coursework or relevant experience.
- Experience with inventory cycle counts and resolving receiving/shipping discrepancies.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with performance metrics.
- Proficient computer skills including 10-key and attention to detail in a paperless environment.
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $15.00 - $23.79 per hour, depending on location, qualifications, and experience.
