Overview
This full-time, remote position is for an Accounts Payable Financial Analyst supporting the Accounts Payable function within a healthcare controller department. The role focuses on financial accounting, analytical support, and operational oversight related to accounts payable activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and reconcile the GR/IR (Goods Received/Invoice Received) account.
- Resolve purchase order and invoicing variances.
- Coordinate with suppliers, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and internal departments.
- Participate in accounts payable analytics and benchmarking, including analysis of key performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support leadership decision-making and period-end close activities.
- Analyze invoice exceptions, spend patterns, and vendor payment activity to identify trends, anomalies, and discount opportunities.
- Proactively resolve payment issues impacting invoice settlement.
- Conduct quality assurance and compliance activities such as routine invoice audits and duplicate payment reviews.
- Prepare monthly reports for management.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
- Collaborate with AP Operations, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to optimize invoice workflows, automation, and controls.
- Support implementation of new processes, systems, and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting and/or Accounts Payable.
- Strong financial analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and control orientation.
- Ability to translate data into executive insights.
- Process improvement mindset.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Occasional travel to healthcare business offices in Lexington, KY.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $43,680 to $71,323 per year.
- Position grade level: 09.
Location
- Remote position with occasional travel to Lexington, KY.
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
