Overview
An environmental consulting firm is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support their Corporate Office in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position focused on coding and processing invoices and employee expense reports. The role is primarily remote but requires attendance at the Phoenix office 1-2 times per month for check runs. Compensation ranges from $21.94 to $27.82 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide full cycle accounts payable support for multiple field offices, including processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
- Ensure invoices have proper approvals and are charged to the correct project and General Ledger accounts.
- Verify approvals for invoice payments.
- Accurately code and process expense reports.
- Manage the Accounts Payable email inbox, respond to payment status requests, and handle other inquiries.
- Research supplier inquiries and resolve issues.
- Verify and maintain vendor setup in relevant systems, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
- Assist the accounting department with special projects as needed.
- Attend the Phoenix office on scheduled days monthly to complete check runs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in accounts payable.
- Experience with data entry.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Emburse software.
- Experience handling subcontracts and subcontractor invoices.
- College coursework in accounting.

Location
