Overview
This role supports the financial health of a healthcare organization specializing in services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The organization has grown significantly since 2017, expanding access to specialized care through multiple centers and a large community of clinicians and operators.
Responsibilities
- Contact insurance carriers daily to follow up on past due medical claims via calls and payer web portals
- Understand in-network and out-of-network reimbursement processes
- Investigate and resolve submitted insurance claims and document follow-up actions
- Analyze claim denials and determine when to file reconsiderations or appeals
- Collaborate with other revenue cycle management departments to resolve claims processing issues
- Work with accounts receivable management to address payer trends and outstanding issues strategically
- Provide high-quality customer service by discussing insurance coverage, coordination of benefits, and coverage lapses with clients
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with security policies and protected health information (PHI) regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field preferred or equivalent revenue cycle management experience
- In-depth knowledge of medical and insurance terminology and guidelines
- Preferred candidates located in Austin, TX; remote candidates considered with appropriate background
- Experience with CentralReach practice management system preferred
- Experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis preferred
- Minimum 2 years managing medical receivables with successful outcomes
- Familiarity with both in-network and out-of-network environments is a plus
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills to identify trends and improve processes
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely
- Proficient in Excel, including basic formulas and ad-hoc report compilation
- Capable of using multiple systems for claims research and resolution
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time position starting at $55,000 per year, based on experience
- 10 days of paid time off, 10 paid holidays, 2 flex days, with additional time based on tenure
