Overview
A financial technology organization is seeking a Credit Strategy Lead to join their Risk & Analytics team. This team plays a critical role in shaping business strategy by designing experiments, analyzing performance, and building analytical frameworks to guide resource investment. The Credit team collaborates cross-functionally with Machine Learning, Fraud, Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, and Commercial teams to manage the risk profile responsibly and enable sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary credit point of contact managing end-to-end credit strategy for the Shopify portfolio.
- Utilize alternative data to optimize credit strategies related to limit assignment and purchasing power.
- Collaborate with the Machine Learning team to enhance underwriting frameworks, particularly for low average order value (AOV) transactions.
- Support the development of new products and exploration of new verticals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in credit risk.
- Proven visionary leadership capable of challenging the status quo, identifying opportunities, and developing strategic roadmaps.
- Solid understanding of lending industry fundamentals and credit risk management.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Effective communication skills to clearly present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Grade: O
- Equity Grade: 12
- Base salary range for U.S. employees:
- California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut: $220,000 - $280,000 per year
- All other U.S. states: $195,000 - $255,000 per year

- This is a remote-first role with flexibility to work from almost anywhere within the country of employment.
