Overview

A leading organization in the power generation, renewable energy, and industrial construction industries is seeking an Assistant Controller. This company is the largest independent operator of power facilities in its sector, emphasizing safety, integrity, and quality in its operations. Responsibilities

  • Support and drive the monthly close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial data
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal management reports
  • Coordinate and support external audits with necessary deliverables
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and shorten close cycles
  • Support daily accounting functions and maintain internal controls
  • Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts
  • Provide financial insights to aid decision-making
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to foster accountability and improvement
  • Build and maintain a high-performing finance team
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes
  • Support ERP system maintenance or upgrades
  • Improve reporting efficiency and data accuracy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Advanced-level accounting experience in public accounting or industry environment
  • Experience in industrial services, construction, or energy sectors and multi-entity environments is a plus
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics D365 is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-finance teams
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $137,500 to $158,100, based on experience and qualifications
