Overview
A rapidly growing Financial Due Diligence Analytics practice is seeking an Associate Director to lead client engagements and contribute to business development. This role involves delivering data-driven financial due diligence solutions to private equity and corporate clients, managing teams, and developing analytics capabilities to support complex transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements, including carve-outs and divestitures, guiding clients from initial risk assessment through deal close and post-transaction support.
- Develop and review quality of earnings (QoE) analyses, net working capital assessments, normalized EBITDA evaluations, and cash flow analyses to identify key value drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee the design and delivery of analytics solutions such as data modeling, interactive dashboards, and visualizations that translate complex financial data into executive-ready insights.
- Employ hypothesis-driven, data-enabled approaches to analyze performance trends, margin dynamics, revenue quality, and balance sheet considerations to inform deal valuation and negotiation strategies.
- Integrate and apply analytics tools including Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Snowflake to enhance diligence workflows and client insights.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of AI-enabled solutions in compliance with data protection, intellectual property, and professional standards.
- Stay current on emerging AI tools and collaborate with leadership to identify compliant opportunities to improve client solutions and internal processes.
- Manage project administration including work plans, staffing, timelines, budgeting, and billing across multiple engagements to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Monitor M&A market trends, analytics technologies, and sector developments, communicating their impact to clients and internal teams.
- Support business development by identifying and pursuing opportunities with private equity sponsors, corporate acquirers, and lenders; assist with proposals and pursuit materials.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor who understands client needs and identifies opportunities for expanded services.
- Mentor and develop junior team members through coaching, feedback, and involvement in their professional growth; participate in recruiting and retention efforts.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in financial due diligence, transaction analytics, public accounting, or related professional services.
- Deep knowledge of quality of earnings methodologies, net working capital analyses, EBITDA normalization, and financial statement evaluation in M&A contexts.
- Proven experience managing financial due diligence engagements and workstreams for private equity and corporate clients, with leadership and client relationship responsibilities.
- Proficiency with analytics and data platforms such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, Excel, or Snowflake, applied within transaction contexts.
- Ability to independently manage project teams, resolve engagement issues, and deliver high-quality client deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Experience building client relationships and contributing to business development and proposal efforts.
- Familiarity with responsibly adopting firm-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation.
- Openness to continuous learning and applying emerging technologies including AI and automation in alignment with policies and client standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%, depending on client needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
- CPA, CA, or CFA certification preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in financial due diligence, transaction advisory, or related fields within public accounting or professional services.
