Overview

This role offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced startup environment focused on building out a modern Fund Administration service offering for private markets. The organization serves private market clients in Real Estate, Private Equity, and Venture Capital by providing fund accounting and reporting services. The Fund Accountant will collaborate with customers, fund accounting team members, and Investor Services and Fund Administration Onboarding teams to deliver high-quality service and help shape the future of the fund administration offering.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to decision-making regarding team operational policies and procedures
  • Help define fund administration workflows, applying best practices and process efficiencies
  • Assist in training team members on processes and monitor client deliverables
  • Interface directly with clients to deliver an outstanding client experience
  • Perform accounting, analytical, and financial reporting duties ensuring timely and accurate client and investor reporting
  • Prepare waterfall calculations, capital calls, and distributions in accordance with clients’ Limited Partnership Agreements
  • Prepare asset- and fund-level performance metrics such as IRRs and TVPI
  • Assist in preparing, compiling, and verifying external client and regulatory reporting
  • Prepare financial information for stockholders/investor reports
  • Support annual audits, including preparation of initial drafts of audit reports and related schedules

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of fund accounting experience in fund administration and/or in-house with exposure to Private Equity (open-ended and/or close-ended), Private Debt, and/or Real Estate funds
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of accounting rules and procedures for private investment funds, including fund-level accounting and reporting
  • Exposure to waterfall calculations, performance metrics (IRRs), distributions, and capital calls
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing, researching, and resolving accounting and financial issues
  • Excellent interpersonal, client service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Passion for technology and desire to leverage technology to improve business operations
  • Experience with Investran is preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • U.S. base salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
  • Canadian base salary range: $70,000 - $85,000
  • Actual salary based on experience, skillset, location, and local pay requirements
