Overview

An opportunity is available for an Attributions Performance Analyst to join an Investment Operations team. This role supports performance measurement and portfolio management processes and tools by providing calculations, analysis, research, and report preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance capabilities to support new business and operational objectives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely distribution of GIPS composite performance, total return investment performance, risk measures for portfolios and benchmarks, attribution, characteristics/analytics, and related reports.
  • Support marketing by responding to routine client and consultant performance inquiries and RFP/consultant questionnaires.
  • Assist investment teams in maintaining GIPS compliance in line with CFA Institute’s Global Investment Performance Standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Measure, calculate, analyze, and report on daily and periodic composite, index, and portfolio performance, including security-level data and performance statistics for assigned asset class portfolios.
  • Research and resolve complex investment performance and attribution data anomalies, system issues, and client inquiries.
  • Prepare investment performance and analytical reports while maintaining controls aligned with internal policies and client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners including senior operations, client services, and compliance to share information and resolve issues.
  • Support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, process reviews, and system enhancements.
  • Evaluate investment performance and attribution relative to consultant, peer, and client benchmarks.
  • Provide training to junior staff and global team members as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in investment/mutual fund operations or a related field.
  • Understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, security types, risk statistics, investment performance, Global Investment Performance Standards, characteristics/analytics, and attribution methodologies.
  • Preferred experience with CLOs, Private Placement, Bank Loans, SMF data, and researching security-level details.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, time management, planning, decision-making, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros) and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Port or Aladdin for attribution, Eagle Investment Performance System, and Power BI for reporting.
  • Strong desire for continued education such as CFA, CIPM, Master's degree, and data analytics skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple complex tasks.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative, including project work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $69,300 - $126,000 per year, depending on location, experience, education, and skill level.

    • Grand Island, NE / Wichita, KS: $69,300 – $94,500
    • Des Moines, IA / Tampa, FL: $73,150 – $99,750
    • Charlotte, NC / Dallas, TX: $77,000 – $105,000
    • Chicago, IL / Denver, CO / Minneapolis, MN: $84,700 – $115,500
    • Los Angeles, CA / New York City, NY: $92,400 – $126,000

Location

This role offers options for in-office work (locations include Des Moines, IA; Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Chicago, IL; and Portland, OR), hybrid work (a blend of office and remote), and fully remote arrangements based on candidate experience. Candidates living within 30 miles of Des Moines, IA, will have in-office days to support team collaboration.
