Overview
This role is responsible for accounts receivable (A/R) and mail follow-up on amounts due from payors and third parties in a timely manner according to established policies for assigned facilities. The position involves timely collections and third-party follow-up, along with other related duties as assigned. This is a non-exempt, contract-to-hire position based out of San Antonio, TX, with fully remote work options.
Responsibilities
- Manage A/R and mail follow-up on amounts due from payors and third parties.
- Ensure timely collections and follow-up in accordance with organizational policies.
- Provide support to all facilities when requests are received or assistance is needed, responding promptly and professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect dignity by adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
- Deliver high levels of customer service through courtesy, compassion, and positive communication.
- Represent the department as a leader and maintain compliance standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Expert level experience in payment posting, collections, medical collections, medical billing, and revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency in data entry and customer service.
- Knowledge of medical insurance, Medicaid, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
- Ability to handle collection calls, outbound calls, and cash postings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Typing speed of 50 words per minute.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with medical insurance follow-up and outpatient collections.
- Familiarity with call center environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
