Overview
This role involves managing billing and outstanding work-in-progress (WIP) balances for clients assigned to a specific Partner or Director. The Billing Analyst will review, analyze, and prepare billing recommendations, present these to the assigned Partner/Director, and handle billing execution including invoice preparation, write-ups, write-downs, and write-offs.
Responsibilities
Billing Responsibilities:
- Manage WIP balances according to established billing goals for assigned Partner/Director
- Schedule and maintain consistent monthly billing meetings
- Assume all billing and invoicing responsibilities as assigned
- Manage unrelieved WIP balances for clients under the assigned Partner/Director
- Prepare billing recommendations based on client billing history, engagement agreements, and billing guidelines
- Communicate billing recommendations effectively and update as needed
- Coordinate with client services staff to maximize realization and ensure accurate billing execution
- Finalize billing and create invoices within 48 hours of billing meetings
- Process WIP write-offs and write-downs as approved or requested
- Collaborate with Partner/Director and Client Partner on invoice approval
Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:
- Process approved write-offs and write-downs
- Process credits for previously billed invoices
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Associate degree in accounting or finance-related field is a plus
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work with moderate direction
- Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to operate with some flexibility
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and management
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
