Overview
This role involves leading the Revenue Cycle department and staff within a rapidly growing mental health practice group. The Billing Director will oversee daily operations, collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient and accurate billing functions, and drive initiatives to maximize revenue. This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Billing Managers and provide leadership and guidance to the department
- Act as the subject matter expert for all revenue cycle processes
- Develop and implement procedures to improve billing accuracy and timely claim submission in compliance with guidelines
- Collaborate with enterprise leadership to identify operational improvements that enhance revenue
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all revenue cycle staff functions
- Conduct timely audits of current procedures to monitor and improve billing and collections efficiency
- Participate in policy and procedure development and implementation
- Stay informed on trends affecting charge, coding, collections, and billing functions and take appropriate action
- Engage in ongoing education to remain current with changing regulations and compliance requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and collections
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Detailed knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes, HIPAA, medical terminology, and related billing regulations
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
- Experience with electronic medical/health record systems; AdvancedMD experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and demonstrate inclusive management practices
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity working with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Coding or Billing certification

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $132,000 to $191,000, with potential bonus
