Overview
Billing Representative position supporting patient accounts within a clinical practice management plan. This full-time role is based in East Setauket, NY, with potential eligibility for remote work at the manager’s discretion. Applicants must be residents of New York State.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $23.00 - $28.74 per hour, dependent on experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Prepare reconsiderations to payers.
- Process payer rejections.
- Review payer payments.
- Complete special department and physician projects.
- Prepare billing error corrections, refunds, and itemized bills for patients and attorneys.
- Interact with third-party payers to verify reimbursement benefits and claim status.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of medical billing experience in a physician’s office or graduation from a medical billing program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer literacy with knowledge of medical insurance policies, reimbursement processes, and medical terminology.
- Experience using insurance websites.
Physical Demands
- Primarily sedentary work requiring the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and medical providers.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information regularly.
- Additional physical demands will be communicated by management as necessary.
