Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage and execute all billing functions within skilled nursing facilities, with a focus on Illinois Medicaid billing. This role requires expertise in billing procedures across all payer types and ensuring accurate, timely billing processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage billing operations and claims processing
- Ensure compliance with Illinois Medicaid regulations and other payer requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams and external parties
- Utilize billing software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems proficiently
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of billing experience in a long-term care (LTC) or skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
- Detailed knowledge of Illinois Medicaid regulations
- Extensive knowledge of billing procedures for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other payer types
- Experience managing complex billing scenarios
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Proficiency with billing software, EMR systems, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Professional appearance and behavior
