Overview
A legal services provider is seeking a Billing Specialist to manage the billing process for legal services. This role involves ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely invoicing while working with client billing guidelines and e-billing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit invoices for legal services according to client billing guidelines.
- Monitor and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected invoices, and client inquiries.
- Utilize e-billing platforms such as Legal Tracker, CounselLink, and LegaX to submit and track invoices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external client requirements.
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of experience in legal billing or professional services billing.
- Familiarity with legal billing software and e-billing platforms.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with client e-billing platforms and billing compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of legal terminology.
- Familiarity with ABA billing codes and LEDES formats.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: USD $18.00 - $23.00.
- Pay within the range is determined by factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, contractual agreements, and organizational needs.
