Overview
The organization is hiring a full-time Budgets and Contracts Associate to support clinical trial study start-up and amendments.
This role involves reviewing protocols and study documents, developing and negotiating site budgets, reviewing clinical trial agreements and related budget terms, and tracking negotiations through execution. You will work closely with the Budgets and Contracts Manager, clinical operations, finance, research sites, sponsors, and CROs to resolve questions and help keep study timelines moving.
Responsibilities
- Review protocols and study documents to support study start-up and amendment activities
- Develop and negotiate site budgets
- Review clinical trial agreements and related budget terms, including budget exhibits and payment terms
- Track negotiations through execution and maintain progress across active studies
- Collaborate with internal teams, research sites, sponsors, and CROs to resolve questions
- Manage multiple studies and deadlines while producing accurate, high-quality work
- Identify protocol procedures, visits, staffing, and other cost drivers that affect site budgets
Requirements
- Experience in clinical research with hands-on study budget development and/or negotiation experience
- Familiarity with clinical trial agreements, budget exhibits, payment terms, and study amendments
- Ability to review a protocol and identify procedures, visits, staffing, and other costs that affect a site budget
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with detailed budget templates and tracking tools
- Clear written and verbal communication skills when working with sites, sponsors, CROs, and internal teams
- Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to quality across multiple studies and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience negotiating both site budgets and clinical trial agreements
