Overview
This role is part of a nationally centralized Finance and Accounting team and focuses on cash posting, quality assurance, and research related to accounts receivable (A/R). Responsibilities include accurate and timely posting of payments, handling special processing situations, and identifying discrepancies through trending and audit review.
Responsibilities
- Perform Quality Assurance tasks, including routine internal audits related to proper posting of payments, adjustments, copay creation, payment discrepancies, unreconciled transactions, and related research—following company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Timely and accurately report results of audit reviews.
- Assist managers with researching and/or answering escalated questions; support training procedures for Cash Posting Coordinators.
- Research transactions that would otherwise lead to unreconciled postings.
- Assist with testing of new software and/or procedures; serve as a point of contact during implementation.
- Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to identify training needs/opportunities and support training efforts.
- Assist with trend validation and research.
- Accurately and timely post revenue-related A/R cash receipts and/or denials.
- Convert payer-specific denial or payment codes into HIPAA compliant reject codes.
- Download 835 files as needed from a clearinghouse website and upload them into the billing system.
- Balance each posting batch and participate in mid-month and month-end balancing as assigned by the manager.
- Research, track, and trend payment discrepancies; communicate trends and/or items requiring attention.
- Assist with balancing efforts.
- Research escalated posting errors and/or process cash posting-related requests from billing centers.
- Perform work with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with organizational mission, following leadership principles.

- Provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers; address concerns with solutions and maintain customer service as a top priority.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- High school education required.
- Consistent superior level of accuracy when handling posting transactions and inquiries in accordance with policies and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of posting software and processes.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, identify causes, and make solid recommendations to resolve posting issues/questions/trends.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Track record of volunteering for special projects and/or testing; ability to rise to challenges and take extra steps to meet business goals/deadlines.
- Superior customer service skills and team spirit, including timely, professional, and accurate responses and/or advice.
- Strong computer skills and data entry skills required; ten-key skills: 10,000+kph preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $25.24–$32.81 hourly.
- Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case; the offered compensation may be influenced by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
