Overview

This role serves as the central analytics resource for the Commercial organization, providing actionable insights to support sales growth, client retention, operational performance, and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities include owning commercial reporting, sales performance analytics, pipeline prioritization, market opportunity identification, and client-facing data deliverables. The role works closely with the organization’s IT team to consolidate and improve data infrastructure (data tables, marts) to improve speed to market and usability.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and can translate complex data into clear recommendations for sales leadership, service line leaders, marketing, and executive management.

Responsibilities

Commercial Performance Analytics

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide commercial dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Analyze sales performance against targets, quotas, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide region, territory, and individual market-level performance analysis to support leadership decision-making.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting commercial growth.
  • Leverage AI and automation to improve speed and the ability to digest multiple data points.

Pipeline & Market Opportunity Analysis

  • Manage Total Addressable Market (TAM) analysis and pipeline prioritization activities.
  • Identify growth opportunities through TAM assessments, market penetration analysis, cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and margin optimization evaluations.
  • Partner with sales leadership to prioritize high-value opportunities and target accounts.
  • Maintain and analyze network partner data, including geographic coverage assessments and market intelligence.

Client Reporting & Data Governance

  • Serve as the primary analytics point of contact for all client reporting requests and deliverables, working through client management or sales as appropriate.
  • Establish consistency across client reports (and LOBs), including data definitions, data mapping standards, reporting methodologies, and user access governance.
  • Lead periodic reviews to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
  • Partner with IT and operations teams to improve reporting processes and data quality.
  • Evaluate opportunities for client-facing self-serve reporting to reduce support time.

Line of Business Analytics & Growth Planning

  • Support commercial leaders with actionable performance reporting and business insights.
  • Assist in establishing and monitoring key performance indicators by LOB, working with relevant LOB analyst resources.
  • Identify negative trends, volume shifts, and potentially market risks requiring intervention.
  • Evaluate operational performance metrics such as turnaround times (TATs) vs goal and across clients.
  • Support annual planning, forecasting, and growth strategy initiatives.

Strategic Prospect & Client Support

  • Provide analytics support for client stewardship meetings and executive business reviews.
  • Partner with Client Management and Marketing to develop data-driven client presentations and growth strategies.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting packages and presentation materials.
  • Serve as an analytic liaison during prospect pitches and client meetings to provide insight and route reporting requests to the appropriate support.

Marketing Support

  • Provide insight into marketing ROI and spend optimization.
  • Develop and/or administer tools for activity and outcomes for marketing tactics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Commercial Analytics, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Business Intelligence, Strategic Analytics, Healthcare, Managed Care, Workers’ Compensation, P&C Insurance, or Professional Services environments preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Analytics, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Python or R
  • Data warehouse experience
  • Forecasting and predictive analytics
  • ETL and data modeling experience
