Remote (Work-from-Home)
The organization is seeking a Commission Analyst to calculate, adjust, and process sales commissions for thousands of agents. This role supports commission account accounting and auditing, responds to agent queries, troubleshoots commission issues as needed, and helps ensure accurate pay.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the commission database, including data entry and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely commission payments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit requirements.
- Perform accurate and detailed audits of commission statements in accordance with requirements.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly commission processes.
- Explain commission calculations and answer payout-related questions (timing, form of payout, commission percentages, etc.).
- Analyze commission disputes by identifying issues, researching, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Improve current processes by developing a deeper understanding of the commission process.
- Assist with questions related to 1099s and general 1099 preparation.
- Perform other assigned functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; or equivalent years of analytical experience.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and organization.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), with demonstrated ability to adapt, remain flexible, and learn quickly under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Reliable and predictable attendance of your assigned shift.
- Ability to work full time and/or part time based on the position specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with sales compensation calculations and reporting.
- Background in the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with compensation tools such as Varicent, Xactly, or SAP Callidus.
