Overview

This role involves serving as a Consultant in Financial Services with a focus on Private Equity clients. The position is part of a growing financial services vertical within the organization, supporting institutional investors such as hedge funds, long-only funds, private equity firms, sell-side research firms, and other financial institutions. The consultant will act as the primary point of contact, engagement lead, and project manager, delivering strategic insights to inform investment decisions.

The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 per year plus bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize consumer panel and survey data to develop data-driven insights and present these confidently to clients.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify opportunities to better serve financial services clients and scale the vertical, including developing new products, analyses, or insight interpretations that add value to the investment process.
  • Support sales efforts by participating in sales cycles and presentations as a subject matter expert, including occasional product demonstrations.
  • Interface directly with financial services clients across investment and data/insights teams to address key business questions and challenges.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative by exploring underlying questions, connecting insights to client objectives, and proactively delivering value-added analysis.
  • Manage client engagement and utilization of contracted resources such as consulting hours, platform access, survey credits, and custom projects to maximize ROI and identify opportunities for relationship expansion.
  • Educate clients on the organization's solutions and services, highlighting key differentiators compared to legacy and competing offerings.
  • Contribute to financial services-specific thought leadership content, including webinars, training materials, blog posts, and industry presentations.
  • Travel as required to fulfill responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of and interest in the evolving Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail, and Restaurant industries, as well as the consumer investing landscape across public and private markets.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations directly to clients and prospects.
  • Proven analytical skills including conceptualizing, analyzing, deriving insights from data, and designing execution plans.
  • Skilled in building and managing customer relationships, stakeholder management, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
  • Experience or interest in AI skill- and process-building tools such as Claude or ChatGPT is a plus.
  • Familiarity with competitive product offerings such as Consumer Edge, Retail Loyalty Card systems (e.g., Dunnhumby, 8451), National Consumer Panel (NCP), Nielsen, Circana, Ibotta, Fetch, or Yipit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred, ideally in Business, Economics, or Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Background in consulting, product, sales support, or service delivery within relevant data/software industries (e.g., Nielsen, Circana) or experience as a financial analyst on investment teams or sell-side research.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel user.
