Overview
A fully remote Controller role is available with a company operating two distinct businesses: a B2B robotics division targeting a Nasdaq listing and a globally recognized adult products brand. Both divisions are high-growth and require improved financial infrastructure. This position offers direct access to the CFO and significant involvement in building accounting processes from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions across four US entities
- Own month-end close process with a target of under 5 business days
- Maintain bookkeeping and reconciliations in QuickBooks Online (QBO Desktop access required for historical data)
- Develop payroll, expense, and inventory processes
- Establish financial controls and audit-ready procedures
- Support Nasdaq listing preparation and ongoing TSXV reporting requirements
- Act as the internal escalation point for accounting issues
- Maintain active communication with the remote team via Teams
- Proactively identify and resolve accounting problems independently
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of accounting experience with hands-on ownership of close processes
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; familiarity with QBO Desktop is a strong asset
- Experience working in startup, high-growth, or founder-led environments and improving messy accounting systems
- Understanding of audit requirements and ability to build toward audit readiness without extensive guidance
- Comfortable being the sole accounting representative internally
- Exposure to public company reporting (TSXV, Nasdaq, or SEC) is highly desirable
- Ability to work within Mountain or Pacific Time zones to align with the remote team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative mindset
- Willingness to engage with both the robotics and adult products business lines
- CPA designation is preferred but not required; process discipline and communication skills are prioritized
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $120,000 to $130,000 USD
- Fully remote position
