Overview
This role involves assisting in resolving billing edits that prevent patient claims from being processed. The position acts as a liaison between Revenue Integrity and Ancillary Departments to address revenue and compliance issues. Responsibilities include conducting billing audits, providing monthly audit results, reviewing denial trends to identify documentation or charging issues, and ensuring unbilled accounts are addressed properly and in a timely manner.
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in one of the following states to be eligible for remote work: Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Resolve billing edits by reviewing medical records and other relevant documentation
- Serve as liaison between Revenue Integrity and Ancillary Departments regarding revenue and compliance
- Conduct billing audits and provide monthly audit results
- Review denial trends to identify opportunities related to documentation or charging issues
- Ensure unbilled accounts are addressed appropriately and promptly
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of coding experience
- Certification in one of the following: CCA, CCS, CIC-ICD, COC, or CPC
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of outpatient coding experience
