Overview
A fully remote, full-time Corporate Controller position is available within a growing organization specializing in clinical study solutions. The role reports to the Vice President of Finance and offers a salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements, debt compliance packages, and private equity monthly reporting.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis, profitability assessments, KPIs, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory standards.
- Support fundraising, due diligence, and investor communications as needed.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain updated forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Regularly update department heads on actual spend versus budget.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and safeguard assets.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely completion and accurate disclosures.
- Monitor and report on cash management functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering professional growth and alignment with company goals.
- Evaluate and implement accounting and ERP systems to optimize financial operations.
- Ensure invoicing and revenue recognition comply with ASC 606 standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic planning.
- Oversee all tax-related matters and coordinate corporate tax return preparation and filing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- At least 5 years of experience in the SaaS industry.
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606, SaaS metrics, ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct), invoicing/revenue recognition tools (e.g., Maxio, Zuora), and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
