Cost Accounting Analyst

Overview

This is a fully remote Cost Accounting Analyst role supporting multiple plants within the food manufacturing industry.

The position manages cost accounting activities including developing cost estimates for new or modified products and assisting with periodic cost rolls and overhead rate calculations. Collaboration with operations and other functions is essential to ensure accurate component setup and cost data.

Responsibilities

• Develop timely cost estimates for manufactured products to support sales, marketing, and operations divisions.
• Complete component setup, including overhead calculations and system maintenance for assigned plants.
• Participate in the annual budget process by updating overhead cost drivers and collaborating with plants.
• Support projects assigned by the Manager or Director of Cost Accounting, including cost analysis and data maintenance.
• Update purchased finished goods standard costs quarterly and branch transfer rates monthly; complete monthly cost rolls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration with focus in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience (5+ years in related field).
• Minimum 2 years of cost accounting experience.
• Manufacturing experience in any industry.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Bills of Materials, fixed and variable overhead.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under deadlines and work effectively in teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, especially food processing.
• Familiarity with AS400, JDE, and Oracle systems.

• Salary base range: $67,878.45 to $103,915.16.
