Overview
This role involves tutoring students preparing for the CPA FAR (Financial Accounting and Reporting) exam section through a live online learning platform. Tutors have the flexibility to set their own schedules, work remotely, and earn competitive pay rates.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one online tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
- Assist students with understanding CPA FAR content including financial statements, revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), consolidations, government and nonprofit accounting, inventory, fixed assets, bonds, and stockholders' equity.
- Explain GAAP framework, SEC reporting requirements, and governmental fund accounting.
- Teach journal entry construction, financial statement preparation, and task-based simulation strategies.
- Guide students through consolidation eliminating entries, pension accounting calculations, lease classification analysis, and governmental fund financial statement preparation.
- Use CPA review course materials, practice simulations, and diagnostic analytics to adapt instruction.
- Employ effective teaching methods to address common student challenges and adapt to different learning styles.
- Utilize an AI-powered Tutor Copilot tool to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support and lesson generation.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of CPA FAR exam content and related accounting standards.
- Experience preparing candidates for the CPA FAR section.
- Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student learning needs.
- Familiarity with CPA FAR content blueprint and common student challenges.
Compensation & Benefits
- Earn up to $40 per hour, with incremental pay increases for repeat sessions with the same student.
