Overview
A well-established distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials across North America is seeking a Credit Analyst to join their finance team. This role involves evaluating customer creditworthiness, making credit decisions, and ensuring smooth order processing. Responsibilities
- Review a high volume of customer orders daily, analyzing account history, credit reports, and payment trends to determine appropriate credit limits.
- Provide professional customer service via phone and email regarding credit decisions and account inquiries.
- Analyze financial data, prepare detailed reports, and present insights to leadership to support strategic decisions.
- Identify and evaluate high-risk or potentially fraudulent order activity and take appropriate action to mitigate financial risk.
- Maintain accurate credit files and documentation in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve credit issues and facilitate order processing.
- Monitor and review credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance credit analysis skills and industry knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum of two years of experience in credit, customer service, or collections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and internal teams.
- Integrity and critical evaluation skills for financial data.
- Experience with credit reports, financial statements, and risk assessment is a plus.
