Overview
A remote Credit and Collections Specialist position is available, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, with potential flexible hours after training.
Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures to reduce accounts receivable balances over 60 days
- Contact customers via phone, email, and letters
- Handle sensitive information confidentially
- Prepare account resolution updates for leadership
- Document all collection activities and attempts
- Prepare placement packages for outside attorneys for potential litigation
- Communicate with operations management, physicians, attorneys, and internal customers by phone
- Use tools to obtain improved billing information
- Conduct research and evaluate complex projects to identify financial implications
- Analyze processes to identify areas for improvement and provide education
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
- Experience meeting deadlines and weekly goals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to compile and organize data
- Critical thinking skills with basic medical and computer knowledge
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Dedicated, quiet workspace free from distractions
- Internet download speed of at least 50 Mbps (no satellite internet)
- Equipment must be connected via Ethernet (Wi-Fi, mobile routers, or hotspots are not supported)
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in call center, customer service, collections, or healthcare billing-related roles
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $17.75 - $18.50 per hour
