Overview
A financial services organization specializing in credit card products for consumer and small to medium-sized business (SMB) markets is seeking a Credit Risk Senior Analyst. The role focuses on developing innovative underwriting strategies and credit models to minimize losses and improve profitability. The analyst will collaborate with internal teams across banking, product, finance, and data, as well as external banking partners and customers to launch and manage credit programs.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and refine credit policies and underwriting models for consumer and SMB credit card portfolios
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies for credit portfolio management
- Conduct risk segmentation, behavioral analysis, loss forecasting, and line management
- Build dashboards and deliver regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to senior management
- Stay informed on regulations and compliance requirements affecting credit card products
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in credit risk analysis within a financial institution
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with statistical modeling, including machine learning techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex projects
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to senior leadership
- Demonstrated curiosity and initiative to identify and investigate problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Proficiency in Python and R
- Experience managing consumer and SMB credit card portfolios
- Familiarity with automated decision engines
- Knowledge of credit card industry regulations
Compensation
- National pay range: $99,000 - $123,800
- Premium pay range: $107,200 - $134,000
- Premium Plus pay range: $116,600 - $145,700
- Annual bonuses based on individual and company performance
