Overview
This role is for a Deal Desk Financial Analyst supporting the North American Go-to-Market motion. The position involves providing financial governance and structuring for commercial agreements, partnering closely with Finance leadership, Sales, Legal, and Operations to evaluate, structure, and execute deals that optimize corporate margin goals while meeting customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Analyze deal economics for standard and non-standard agreements, including pricing, discounting, term length, usage commitments, and gross margin impact.
- Collaborate with Sales to structure commercially sound deals by evaluating tradeoffs across price, volume, and risk, ensuring alignment with financial guardrails.
- Build, maintain, and review financial models and pricing scenarios to support non-standard deal requests and senior leadership approval.
- Manage the end-to-end Deal Desk operational workflow in Salesforce/CPQ, including quote building, pricing approvals, Order Form creation, DocuSign execution, and opportunity closure, ensuring data integrity and policy compliance.
- Develop trusted relationships across Commercial Legal, Billing Operations, Corporate Finance, and Sales to streamline deal velocity, especially during high-volume periods.
- Serve as a financial guardrail and educator for Sales and Go-to-Market teams, ensuring adherence to contracting policies, approval matrices, and discount governance.
- Work with Sales and Legal to review and structure non-standard contract language within Order Forms, ensuring compliance with corporate risk and revenue recognition policies.
- Identify recurring deal patterns, approval exceptions, and operational friction points to contribute to continuous improvement of Deal Desk workflows and system efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Commercial Finance, or an analytical Go-to-Market/Deal Desk role. Alternatively, 4 years of relevant analytical experience without a degree.
- Strong analytical and financial skills with a solid understanding of core financial concepts and the ability to clearly explain financial tradeoffs.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including building intermediate financial models, logic formulas, and scenario analyses.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple high-velocity requests simultaneously while maintaining organization under tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude and high integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with online sales and document management tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), and JIRA.
Location
This is a remote role; however, candidates located in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington are not eligible for hire.
Travel
Approximately 5% travel is expected to facilitate in-person connections.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary ranges vary by location:
- Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington D.C.: $72,480 - $90,600
- New York, New Jersey, Washington State, California (outside San Francisco Bay area): $76,720 - $95,900
- San Francisco Bay area, California: $85,200 - $106,500
