Overview
The Director of Credit Risk is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring credit risk strategies for unsecured installment loans. This role requires strong analytical skills combined with business knowledge of unsecured loan products and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly. The position involves analytical work to determine optimal credit strategies, managing project progress through compliance and business reviews, overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT), and creatively solving problems to manage risk while enhancing partner and customer experience.
This is an individual contributor role based in Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities
- Manage the unsecured loans business within the approved risk appetite
- Develop, obtain approval for, implement, and manage credit strategies for unsecured installment loan products
- Independently evaluate and analyze ongoing portfolio and partner performance, identify root causes of performance issues, and manage improvements or maximization efforts
- Communicate complex analyses and strategy recommendations clearly
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to advance the unsecured installment loan business
- Work closely with Product, Technology, and Business teams to ensure credit strategies meet quality and compliance standards
- Maintain a holistic understanding of how partner, product, term, and channel impact expected credit performance
- Support ongoing internal and external audits by maintaining thorough documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in credit analytics, risk management, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience with analytical tools such as SQL and Python
- Demonstrated expertise in understanding and developing credit strategies
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems
- Proven track record of sound decision-making practices
- Experience managing competing and complex priorities in fast-paced environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $97,774.00 to $166,216.00
- Final compensation may vary based on experience, education, and skill level

Work Environment
This role is primarily remote, allowing flexibility to work from various locations while remaining fully integrated with the team through digital collaboration tools and regular communication. Occasional travel may be required for in-person meetings. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.
