Overview
This role leads global revenue and cost of goods sold (CoGS) accounting operations, helping shape a revenue recognition framework that is both agile and accurate. You will bridge complex technical accounting with high-velocity business operations and partner with Go-to-Market (GTM), Product, and IT leaders to ensure commercial strategies are operationally sound and compliant.
The position requires executive presence, deep operational experience, and strong system-building skills—particularly for non-standard transactions and the automation needed to support a public company’s reporting scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead global Revenue, AR, and CoGS accounting functions, setting strategic direction for high-integrity subledger operations, journal entry frameworks, and effective reconciliations.
- Translate technical accounting policies into high-volume global workflows to ensure financial outcomes accurately reflect business activity.
- Define and drive scalable operational vision for ERP workflows and revenue automation (e.g., Oracle RMCS, Zuora), identifying process gaps and leading technology-driven improvements with business operations and enterprise technology teams.
- Build and deliver sophisticated variance analysis that explains the “why” behind financial fluctuations.
- Partner with Billing, GTM, Product & Pricing, and FP&A leaders to evaluate operational feasibility and compliance for ongoing and new initiatives.
- Provide oversight for highly complex accounting matters, including material and non-standard customer contracts, ensuring appropriate application of accounting guidance and internal policies.
- Collaborate with Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting teams to ensure accurate disclosures and robust policy memos, and lead the global team through audit cycles.
- Own the global control framework for functional areas, evolving SOX compliance and internal audit strategies in line with changing business models and regulatory requirements.
- Set the vision for operational excellence, fostering continuous learning and professional growth to elevate the team from transactional execution to strategic collaboration.

- Expert-level understanding of ASC 606, deferred revenue accounting, and complex CoGS structures (including gross margin mechanics) in a SaaS or usage-based environment.
- Deep experience with enterprise-grade ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and specialized revenue subledgers (e.g., Zuora Revenue, RMCS).
- Proven ability to influence C-suite and VP-level stakeholders by translating complex accounting transactions into clear strategic narratives.
- Exceptional ability to handle “gray area” exceptions and non-standard transactions with a focus on both compliance and business enablement; ability to identify core problem components and drive pragmatic, scalable, optimized outcomes.
- Expert knowledge of the SOX framework and a track record designing and maintaining compliance controls for complex, high-volume data environments.
