Overview
This role supports the organization’s Revenue Management function as an eBilling Specialist. The position is remote-based and located out of one of the organization’s U.S. offices, reporting to the Director of Revenue Management.
The eBilling Specialist handles electronic billing for the firm’s e-clients, including client eBilling implementation and ongoing requirements management, ensuring accurate and timely invoice submission in accordance with client guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Implement and onboard new clients onto eBilling platforms, including setup, mapping, and ongoing maintenance of client billing information within the firm’s eBillingHub
- Submit electronic invoices accurately and timely in accordance with client eBilling guidelines
- Monitor invoice status and manage rejections, reductions, and appeals to maximize recovery
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by collaborating with attorneys, assistants, billing teams, and client representatives
- Identify and resolve rejection code issues; review and analyze recurring rejections to determine root causes and prevent similar issues on future bills
- Maintain and update client billing requirements, rules, and vendor portal settings
- Submit accruals and budgets through third-party vendor systems as required by clients
- Manage submission and maintenance of timekeeper approvals on client vendor sites
- Coordinate workflows with local offices to ensure successful invoice processing
- Generate and review billing reports to track submission status, outstanding invoices, and client trends
- Provide support to internal staff regarding procedures and client requirements
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and client standards
- Be flexible to attend onsite trainings, work overtime, and conduct business travel as needed
Requirements
- Highly motivated self-starter able to process a high volume of electronic bills per month with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks involving complex eBilling transactions

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal billing or eBilling within a law firm or professional services environment
Technology
- Experience with third-party eBilling platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, BillingPoint, CounselLink, Tymetrix, or similar systems)
- Aderant and eBillingHub and/or Elite experience preferred
- Strong understanding of legal eBilling processes and client billing guidelines
- Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including core capabilities, limitations, and the importance of data privacy, accuracy, verification, and ethical considerations within a professional services environment
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools) and incorporate them responsibly into day-to-day workflows as appropriate and/or directed
- Proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies; contributes to a culture of innovation
