Overview

This role involves conducting bottom-up fundamental research on publicly traded companies and developing differentiated investment insights to support equity portfolios managed by the firm’s Asset Management team. The Equity Analyst partners closely with Portfolio Managers to identify new investment opportunities, maintain coverage of existing holdings and companies under review, and contribute buy, hold, and sell recommendations grounded in fundamental analysis, valuation discipline, and sound business judgment.

The Analyst will apply a disciplined research process across the firm’s alpha-generating and income-oriented portfolios, assessing business quality, competitive positioning, management execution, valuation, and risk/reward. Modern research tools should be used effectively—including financial databases, DCF modeling, and AI-enabled research workflows—to improve efficiency, deepen insight generation, and support a high-quality, repeatable investment process, while maintaining independent judgment and appropriate verification standards.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Fundamental Research and Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth fundamental research on public companies, including analysis of business models, financial statements, industry structure, competitive positioning, management quality, and long-term shareholder value creation.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, forecasts, and valuation frameworks to assess intrinsic value and risk/reward under a range of scenarios.
  • Develop clear, well-supported investment theses, identifying key drivers, catalysts, assumptions, and risks underlying each recommendation.
  • Generate new investment ideas through independent research, screening, industry work, and synthesis of public and proprietary information.
  • Evaluate relative opportunities across assigned sectors and market capitalizations in alignment with portfolio objectives and investment philosophy.

Portfolio Support and Investment Recommendations

  • Provide timely, actionable buy, hold, and sell recommendations supported by rigorous analysis and clear articulation of conviction level, upside/downside, and key thesis milestones.
  • Monitor existing portfolio holdings and companies under active review, updating investment views as new information emerges.
  • Support portfolio decision-making by assessing position-level implications of earnings releases, company-specific developments, industry shifts, and macroeconomic factors relevant to covered names.
  • Contribute to portfolio discussions with a focus on alpha generation, downside risk, and risk-adjusted return potential.

Research Diligence, Market Monitoring & External Engagement

  • Maintain current knowledge of developments affecting covered companies, relevant industries, competitors, and broader market conditions.
  • Conduct ongoing due diligence through earnings calls, regulatory filings, industry publications, channel checks, expert conversations, and other primary and secondary research sources, as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain productive research relationships with company management teams, investor relations professionals, and industry contacts.
  • Prepare concise written materials and verbal presentations summarizing research findings, investment theses, and portfolio implications for internal discussion.

Technology, Data & Research Process Enhancement

  • Use Excel and relevant investment research platforms effectively to support modeling, valuation, screening, monitoring, and investment documentation.
  • Incorporate AI-enabled tools and workflows into the research process to enhance efficiency in information synthesis, document review, workflow automation, and idea development, while applying sound judgment and source validation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of research templates, monitoring processes, and analytical workflows that strengthen the team’s overall investment process.

Qualifications

  • Ability to assess business quality, competitive advantage, management execution, capital allocation, and long-term value creation.
  • Sound business judgment and the ability to form independent, evidence-based investment views.
  • Intellectual curiosity, skepticism, initiative, and a desire to generate differentiated insights rather than rely on consensus views.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex analysis into clear, decision-useful conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-accountability, team-oriented investment environment.
  • High attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic market environment.
