Overview
A premier global investment bank is seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious Equity Research Analyst to join its award-winning Global Market Research division. This role involves working within a specific industry coverage sector such as Technology, Healthcare, or Consumer Retail. Reporting directly to a Senior Lead Analyst, the analyst will conduct deep fundamental analysis, build predictive valuation models, and analyze macroeconomic trends to produce institutional-grade research reports that inform investment decisions for major hedge funds and asset managers.
Responsibilities
- Construct, update, and maintain detailed, dynamic three-statement financial models (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to project public company earnings and calculate intrinsic value using Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and multiples-based valuations.
- Conduct proprietary market research by analyzing corporate SEC filings (10-Ks, 10-Qs), attending quarterly earnings calls, interviewing industry experts, and tracking channel-check data to identify emerging industry trends.
- Assist in drafting comprehensive company-specific notes, industry thematic reports, and flash earnings updates, translating complex financial data into cohesive and persuasive investment theses.
- Maintain accurate, real-time databases tracking sector-specific operational KPIs, valuation metrics, and consensus estimates to ensure flawless data for the research team.
- Support senior team members in preparing presentation decks, data visualizations, and briefing materials for institutional client inquiries and internal sales and trading teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative discipline with a record of strong academic achievement.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience, including investment banking or equity research internships, leadership roles in university student-managed investment funds, or participation in global financial modeling competitions.
- Exceptional hands-on mastery of Microsoft Excel with a foundational understanding of accounting principles and proven ability to link corporate financial statements.
- Familiarity with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or Capital IQ is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a natural skepticism for unverified data and a drive to uncover the underlying story behind the numbers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of synthesizing extensive raw data into clear, compelling written arguments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Base salary range of $100,000 to $130,000.
