Overview
A leading market research and analytics firm specializing in the disruptive economy is seeking an Equity Research Analyst (official title: Research Analyst) to join their expanding research team. This role focuses on developing fundamental research for high-demand subscription-based data products, leveraging proprietary technology that analyzes billions of alternative data points across sectors such as software, AI, cloud, e-commerce, ridesharing, and payments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data-driven research to create and communicate valuable insights from large datasets
- Perform SQL-driven granular analysis, including cohort, concentration, penetration, and competitive analyses
- Collaborate with the data team to develop new research products and features
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with subscribers, including major investors
- Support product marketing efforts by working with Sales, Client Strategy, and Marketing teams on client calls, webcasts, and press references
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in equity research or management consulting-style writing
- Background in equity research, business analysis, or related fields with a passion for data-driven fundamental investing
- Commitment to learning new technology skills, including coding
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
- Experience covering consumer or consumer tech sectors is a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (no visa sponsorship available for this role)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using SQL for data analysis
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable investment insights
- Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary of approximately $150,000 plus a targeted bonus of 15% of salary and equity

- This is a remote-friendly position based in the United States
- Preferred locations include New York City (headquarters), Austin, Miami, Denver, Mountain View, or Seattle
