Overview

The organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Investments Finance team. This role provides exposure to financial reporting, analysis, accounting, and process improvement initiatives that support a Fortune 100 organization.

The Investments Finance team partners with leaders across the organization to deliver accounting, planning and analysis, financial reporting, valuation support, research, and project management for Investments. The work supports investment-related external disclosures and management reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop schedules supporting external financial filings for The organization and its subsidiaries, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC/GAAP) and National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC/Statutory) reporting requirements.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing journal entries and resolving reporting issues as they arise.
  • Perform financial, statistical, and trend analyses to identify unusual results, investigate variances, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Prepare information, schedules, and supporting analysis for investment-related external disclosures.
  • Report and analyze financial, capital, and operational data to support management reporting and business decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and executive-level materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, resolve reporting questions, and ensure accuracy of financial results.
  • Apply accounting principles and financial concepts to support reporting, reconciliation, and analytical activities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to projects that enhance reporting efficiency, controls, and data quality.
  • Execute assigned responsibilities in accordance with established controls, timelines, and compliance standards.
  • Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and business initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, investments, analytics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial analysis concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and investigate variances.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting and analysis tools.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $50,000.00 - $75,050.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Candidates will be required to submit to a background investigation.
  • The organization generally does not sponsor employment-based visas for this position.

Location

  • Indiana public policy statement applies effective July 1, 2014, under Indiana House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1242.
